The Mercury Dime, also known as the Winged Liberty Head Dime, was a ten-cent coin produced by the United States Mint from 1916 to 1945. 

Designed by Adolph Weinman, it featured Liberty wearing a winged Phrygian cap, which is often mistaken for the Roman god Mercury.
